Hitler's Music

Hitler's Point of Tension

Philosopher Francis Schaeffer had a term he called a "point of tension". The idea was that a mans belief systems, unless founded in objective truth, would eventually falter and crumble like a house of cards. The man finds that what he held as a "world view", because it was based on a false presupposition simply does not work any longer. He can not act within his "constructed truth", and therefore must confess it is no longer true, or he becomes a hopeless hypocrite... And therein is the "point of tension". Is what I believe REALLY TRUE? What am I basing that truth on? Does it actually work for my life?

Hitler had a very infamous "belief system". But as we see here, even as vehemently as he held to it, he found he had to become a hypocrite. It simply did not work in real life.
Something to think about........

Hitler's Music Collection Turns Up in Dead Russian Soldier's Attic
By Roger Boyes

BERLIN — Adolf Hitler, the most notorious champion of Richard Wagner and “racially pure” German music, banished Jewish and Russian musicians from the concert halls of the Third Reich — but apparently listened secretly to their work.

New light has been shed on the Nazi leader’s musical tastes by the discovery of what are said to be a hundred of his gramophone records found in the attic of a former Soviet intelligence officer, Lev Besymenski.

The most astonishing fact about the records, essentially Hitler’s “Best of . . .” collections is the presence of Jewish performers. Among the recordings is a Tchaikovsky concerto performed by the virtuoso Polish Jewish violinist Bronislaw Huberman. Hitler would have been aware, while listening to Huberman’s playing, that he had founded the Palestine Orchestra in 1936 (which went on to be the foundation of today’s Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) and that he was living in enforced exile.
The Austrian Jewish pianist Artur Schnabel, whose mother was killed by the Nazis, also had his work included in Hitler’s personal collection.

Hitler had spelt out his view of Jewish culture in Mein Kampf. “There was never a Jewish art and there is none today,” he wrote, adding that the “two queens of the arts, architecture and music, gained nothing original from the Jews”.

Huge Hailstones!

Megacryometeors in the Bible?

"And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague was extremely severe."

Revelation 16:21 (nasb)

This has always seemed like a far-out, science fiction type Bible verse. This just seemed impossible.

It doesn't seem so far fetched anymore........ Take a look at what scientists are calling "megacryometeors", an increasing phenomenon that some are blaming on global warming!

First, here are a couple of pictures. Notice the "scale" on the first photo. It is 15cm (or 5.9 inches), making that a huge piece of ice! My guess is that chunk was about 2ft in diameter!

Falling ice chunks hit Iowa neighborhood
July 27, 2007
DUBUQUE, Iowa --Large chunks of ice, one of them reportedly about 50 pounds, fell from the sky in this northeast Iowa city, smashing through a woman's roof and tearing through nearby trees.

"It sounded like a bomb!" 78-year-old Jan Kenkel said. She said she was standing in her kitchen when an ice chunk crashed through her roof at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday. "I jumped about a foot!"

She traced the damage to her television room, where she found a messy pile of insulation, bits of ceiling, splintered wood and about 50 pounds of solid ice.

Karle and Mary Beth Wigginton, who live a block away, heard a loud "whoosh" coming through the trees. They discovered several large chunks of ice in front of their home and some smaller ones in the yard and in the street.

"I could see where branches were shredded, which told me it was definitely coming out of the sky," Karle Wigginton said.

He estimated the original chunk of ice was the size of a basketball. "It was pure white," he said. "The main parts I picked up were very smooth."

Elizabeth Cory, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said investigators would contact Kenkel to try to determine the source of the ice.

"It is very uncommon for something like this to come from an aircraft," Cory said. "That is really unusual if it is pure white ice, especially at this time of year."

A megacryometeor:
Is a very large chunk of ice, which, despite sharing many textural, hydro-chemical and isotopic features detected in large hailstones, are formed under unusual atmospheric conditions which clearly differ from those of the cumulonimbus clouds scenario (i.e. clear-sky conditions). They are sometimes called huge hailstones, but do not need to form in thunderstorms. Jesus Martinez-Frias, a planetary geologist of the Center for Astrobiology in Madrid pioneered research on megacryometeors in January 2000, after ice chunks weighing up to 6.6 pounds rained on Spain out of cloudless skies for 10 days.
Martínez-Frías determined the objects in Spain were free of urine, feces, and disinfecting solutions, so it was determined that its source was not an airplane's frozen waste water. In fact, at the times of several of the events, the official records of air traffic control showed no airplanes in the skies over the areas in question.

Some scientists believe that the recent increase in the frequency of these megacryometeors worldwide may be due to the effects of global warming.

Since the year 2000 more than 50 megacryometeors have been recorded. They vary in size between 0.5 kg (1.1lbs) to over 200 kg. (440 lb) One was measured in Brazil as 220 kg. (484 lbs!!!)

Russia and the North Pole

Russia to Plant Flag at North Pole
(Excerpts only, complete article here: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/08/01/arctic.grab.ap/)

An expedition aimed at strengthening Russia's claim to much of the oil and gas wealth beneath the Arctic Ocean reached the North Pole on Wednesday, and preparations immediately began for two mini-submarines to drop a capsule containing a Russian flag to the sea floor.

The voyage, led by noted polar explorer and Russian legislator Artur Chilingarov, has some scientific goals, including the study of Arctic plants and animals. But its chief goal appears to be advancing Russia's political and economic influence by strengthening its legal claims to the gas and oil deposits thought to lie beneath the Arctic sea floor.

The symbolic gesture, along with geologic data being gathered by expedition scientists, is intended to prop up Moscow's claims to more than 460,000 square miles of the Arctic shelf -- which by some estimates may contain 10 billion tons of oil and gas deposits.

About 100 scientists aboard the Akademik Fyodorov are looking for evidence that the Lomonosov Ridge -- a 1,240-mile underwater mountain range that crosses the polar region -- is a geologic extension of Russia, and therefore can be claimed by it under the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Denmark hopes to prove that the Lomonosov Ridge is an extension of the Danish territory of Greenland, not Russia. Canada, meanwhile, plans to spend $7 billion to build and operate up to eight Arctic patrol ships in a bid to help protect its sovereignty.

The U.S. Congress is considering an $8.7 billion budget reauthorization bill for the U.S. Coast Guard that includes $72.96 million to operate and maintain the nation's three existing polar icebreakers. The bill also authorizes the Coast Guard to construct two new vessels.

Dead Sea Rift

Earthquakes in Israel

The Middle-east is a land of fault lines and earthquakes. One of the most impressive fault lines lies directly in Israel in what is called called "The Dead Sea Rift", (some call it the Jordan Rift Valley.) Here is a picture of it by satellite.

Statistically, the Land of Israel has a history of a destructive earthquake once every 80 to 100 years. The last major quake was in 1927... 80 years ago. It is no wonder that scientists are keeping their eye on this region of the earth!

Geologist Dr. Ron Avni of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev notes that, "There's a very high probability that some time in the next two decades there will be a major earthquake."

Earthquakes in Scripture
There are many scriptures that speak of earthquakes. Several speak of a HUGE earthquake, such as never been experienced on the planet before... and it takes place right there in Israel! (Possibly in this very rift area that you see in the photo above!) Here are some passages that talk of earthquakes, specifically toward the time of the end.

Ezekiel 38:18-20 (nkjv)
“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “that My fury will show in My face. For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’

Zech 14:3,4
Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.

Matthew 24:7
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

Revelation 6:12
I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.

Revelation 11:13
In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Revelation 16:18
And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
